This document explains how to access Electude from your Schoology learning platform and how to add Electude content to a course. For information about setting up the LTI integration, see the LTI Schoology Admin guide.
1. Initiate access to Electude
If you are a new Electude user, you need to initiate your Electude account.
In Schoology, click on your name in the top right of the window and select Your Profile.

Click Electude in the left-hand navigation menu.

Click Launch App.

2. Access Electude
If the steps provided in the administrator guide were followed, you can directly access the Electude learning platform from your Schoology environment as a teacher.
Log in to Schoology and locate your course. You should be enrolled as an admin to the course. If you are not, find the message at the top of the Schoology course window that says that you are not and click Enroll now.

Click on the Electude link in the left-hand navigation menu.

Click on Launch App. Electude will launch in a new window.

Here you have access to courses, modules and student data. To learn more about navigating to courses and modules, or creating your own courses and modules, click on the ? on the top right corner in the Electude screen.

3. Add Electude content to your Schoology course
It is possible to add entire Electude courses or specific modules to Schoology.
3.1 Add Electude courses to your Schoology course
Navigate to the course in Schoology to which you would like to add Electude learning content and click on Materials in the left-hand navigation menu of your course.

Click the Add Materials button and select the Electude link from the dropdown menu.

Click on the Courses tab in Electude and navigate to the course you would like to add to Schoology.

Click Select as LTI tool.

Your Electude course is now 'deep linked' into your Schoology course.

3.2 Add Electude modules to your Schoology course
If you want to add separate modules instead of an entire course to Schoology, follow the same steps as described in section 3.1. When Electude opens in Schoology, navigate to the Modules tab in Electude.

Search for or navigate to the module you would like to add to Schoology via the menu on the left-hand side. Then, click on the Select as LTI tool button to add the module to your Schoology course.

Note:
If you select ‘Select as LTI tool’ a column in the gradebook will be created on notification of a student result.
If you select ‘Select as LTI tool with line item’, a clickable gradebook column for this module will be created immediately. In combination with the enabled Electude site administratior setting 'Do not create line item automatically, only send grades for existing line items’, this option also allows you to determine for which modules student results are or are not passed on to Schoology.
4. Prepare your gradebook for grades from Electude
To be able to access Electude results in your grade book, you need set up a category. In your Schoology course, click on Grade Setup in the left-hand navigation menu.

Click + Add under Categories.

Enter a name for your category, then click Create.

Click on the star icon to the left of the newly created category, so that it is gold.
